Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage vendor/preferred vendor programs, including establishing new supplier relationships, registering vendors, and maintaining/updating approved vendor files.
- Negotiate with suppliers on behalf of the company to secure cost-effective pricing while adhering to project budgets and quality standards.
- Enforce procurement policies and limits, ensuring all purchases align with project specifications, company requirements, and verified quality standards.
- Obtain and document multiple vendor quotations for purchases, maintaining records for compliance and decision-making.
- Conduct vendor research and audits as needed to evaluate success rates, product/service quality, pricing, and facility compliance.
- Maintain and update purchasing databases (e.g., PO logs), track overhead and project spending via spreadsheets, and expedite orders to meet project timelines.
- Monitor deliveries for timeliness, accuracy, and documentation compliance.
- Manage procurement activities across multiple concurrent projects (both active and prospective), prioritizing tasks, coordinating material requirements, and ensuring alignment with varying project schedules and budgets.
- Collaborate with Finance, Accounts Payable, Project Management, and Operations teams to ensure departmental cohesion, compliance of purchased materials, and effective logistics planning/coordination for ongoing and prospective projects.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- 3 years' experience in procurement/purchasing within industrial fabrication, construction, oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar heavy industrial sectors.
- Experience procuring structural steel, piping, pipe fittings, components & instruments, or related materials strongly preferred; familiarity with Brownfield (modifications/revamps in existing facilities) and Greenfield (new build) project procurement cycles highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel (e.g., data analysis, pivot tables, and financial tracking) and Access (e.g., database management).
- Experience with procurement/purchasing software (e.g., Procure Desk or similar systems) and CRM environments.
- OSHA 10/30-Hour and/or MSHA Safety Training.
Salary: $66,000 DOE.
