The Shop Manager we're looking for is highly organized, has excellent communication skills, and is able to anticipate and solve challenges related to Fleet operational efficiency. This manager will successfully supervise all areas of the shop facility including working in a team environment. This position requires decisive decision-making skills when required, along with great time management. Follow all company procedures and supervisors’ instructions along with administrative duties when required.
The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:
Monitors and evaluates the shop facility in a safe, efficient, timely, cost effective and practical manner
Continually research new technology relating to the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles
Schedule and assign work
Manage manpower to ensure peak workload times are covered
Audit work orders
Actively monitors work habits and strive to increase productivity
Maintain a high level of housekeeping
Recommend and actively train all employees with the goal of improving their knowledge
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure a timely repair of equipment
Provide information, advice and direction to all employees in their area of responsibility
Assist with formation of shop budget and management of the same
Recruiting and retention of shop employees
Foster a positive employee relations atmosphere
Review & analyze department data to meet budget goals
Monitor work in progress
Monitor employee training progress
Responsible for condition of facility
Incorporate our Principles into daily activities
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least 3 years of management in a comparable setting with diesel powered vehicles.
Candidates must have experience managing a staff of technicians.
Experience in maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment.
Experience with D.O.T. rules and regulations preferred but not necessarily required.
Experience managing staff is required, including scheduling of staff for shifts as well as scheduling and follow up with required work.
Experience scheduling preventative maintenance for fleet required.
ASE Master Certification strongly preferred.
Strong computer skills.
Good customer relations and people skills

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $2,250. $750 available after first 90 days of employment. Additional $750 available after first 180 days of employment. Final $750 available at 1 year employment.
Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year depending on experience.
