Sr. Software Quality Engineer

Summary

Our client is seeking a senior-level Software Quality Engineer with proven experience at the staff or senior level. This role requires a track record of designing scalable automation frameworks, leading quality strategy across multiple teams, and driving best practices while influencing engineering decisions. They will develop, maintain, and scale automated test solutions for both Web applications and APIs, ensuring overall quality, reliability, and stability of software releases.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and scale automated test solutions for Web applications and APIs.
• Lead quality strategy across multiple teams and design scalable automation frameworks.
• Work on a cross-functional Agile team and actively participate in team meetings.
• Expand automation framework capabilities and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and drive quality best practices across the organization.
  
  

Requirements

• Proven success operating at a senior or staff level in a Software Quality Engineer capacity.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Karate Framework or REST-Assured.
• Hands-on experience using Playwright for modern UI automation.
• Expertise in using JMeter and BlazeMeter for performance testing.
• Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, CTEs) using Oracle SQL.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and GitLab integration.
  
  

Preferred

• Extensive experience testing distributed/microservices architectures.
• Experience with authentication methods (OAuth, JWT) and mocking services.
• Exposure to AWS Cloud and Docker containerization.
• Scripting experience using Java/JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience using AI during testing.
• Experience using New Relic for monitoring/observability and basic security testing knowledge (OWASP).
  
  

This is a 6-Month Contract with an extension opportunity with our Kansas City, MO client.
