IT Disaster Recovery Coordinator

Summary

The IT Disaster Recovery Coordinator will own the planning, testing, and execution of technology recovery processes to protect critical systems and data during outages, cyber events, and emergencies. This position will partner closely with IT, risk, compliance, and business teams to maintain recovery readiness, meet regulatory expectations, and support enterprise continuity programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technology recovery frameworks aligned to continuity and regulatory standards.
• Build, review, and test recovery plans for applications, infrastructure, and core platforms.
• Perform business impact reviews and recovery gap assessments.
• Define and manage recovery time and recovery point objectives.
• Coordinate vendor recovery testing and validation activities.
• Lead scheduled disaster recovery exercises and tabletop simulations.
• Track testing results and manage corrective action plans.
• Validate backup, replication, and failover capabilities.
• Maintain recovery runbooks, escalation paths, and contact trees.
• Act as Command Lead during technology disruption events.
• Support audits, regulatory reviews, and risk assessments.
• Provide reporting to continuity and risk governance groups.
• Participate in enterprise continuity committees.
• Respond to off-hours recovery events as required.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in technology disciplines.
• 3 years of experience supporting disaster recovery, continuity, or infrastructure operations.
• Knowledge of Cloud platforms, backup solutions, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Experience with recovery tooling and monitoring platforms.
• Ability to lead cross-functional response efforts.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Familiarity with recognized continuity and security standards.
