We’re Hiring: Production Purchasing Coordinator

Are you highly organized, detail-driven, and motivated by keeping production moving smoothly?

We are seeking a Production Purchasing Coordinator to support purchasing, inventory control, production planning, and vendor coordination. This is a key role for someone who enjoys working across departments, solving problems before they impact production, and making sure raw materials, packaging, and finished goods are where they need to be — when they need to be there.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in purchasing, inventory, production coordination, warehouse systems, or supply chain support who wants to be part of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

As the Production Purchasing Coordinator, you will help ensure that production runs efficiently by coordinating materials, maintaining accurate system data, and supporting communication between suppliers, customer service, sales, production, and headquarters.

Key responsibilities include:

• Place purchase orders with suppliers and follow up on order status.
• Receive raw materials and process invoices accurately in the system.
• Ensure raw materials used in production are consumed correctly and on time.
• Confirm customer orders internally and verify that requested dates can be met.
• Maintain inventory of raw materials and packaging above defined minimum levels.
• Ensure all required materials are available before production runs begin.
• Monitor vendor performance related to quality, pricing, and on-time delivery.
• Order traded materials for sales and internal production needs.
• Coordinate shipments to toll facilities and manage return of produced goods.
• Update production bills of material when raw materials or item codes change.
• Adjust line routing for items to maintain production accuracy.
• Support month-end closing and other production planning tasks as needed.

What Success Looks Like

The right candidate will help ensure:

• Raw materials are consumed accurately and on time.
• Vendor deliveries for raw materials and packaging remain above 98% on-time performance.
• Inventory levels are controlled and maintained above minimum targets.
• The ERP system is accurate and up to date at all times.
• Month-end closing is completed on time each month.
• Active production orders are well managed.
• Communication with customer service, sales, production, and suppliers remains smooth and timely.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in purchasing, inventory control, production planning, warehouse operations, or a related area.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking, and listening.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented work style.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and warehouse/inventory management software.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
