Position Overview
We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Worker to facilitate group-based programming and provide peer support within a holistic, recovery-oriented model of care. This role is ideal for someone who is grounded in their own recovery, enjoys leading experiential groups, and feels at home blending movement, mindfulness, and everyday life skills into behavioral health support.
This is a full-time position with opportunities to help shape programming and contribute to a growing, mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate peer-led group sessions focused on recovery, wellness, and life skills
- Lead or co-lead experiential groups such as:
- Yoga, breathwork, meditation, or somatic practices
- Nature-based activities (hiking, outdoor mindfulness, grounding practices)
- Healthy cooking, nutrition, and shared meal preparation
- Creative, movement, or community-building activities
- Model healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, and relational boundaries
- Collaborate with clinical and program staff to support participant goals
- Maintain required documentation in alignment with agency and funding requirements
- Uphold trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented care practices
Qualifications
- Current Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) credential (required)
- Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery
- Comfort leading groups and holding space for diverse populations
- Experience or training in one or more of the following is highly valued:
- Yoga, breathwork, meditation, or somatic practices
- Outdoor or wilderness-based activities
- Nutrition, cooking, or wellness education
- Strong communication, boundaries, and facilitation skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Valid driver’s license and ability to participate in off-site activities (preferred)
