Starting Pay at $19 an hour, with a $1,500.00 sign on bonus, Additional compensation based on shift and experience.
Schedule- Thursday - Monday: 10:00am-6:30pm
Job Overview: The Senior Facility Custodian maintains safe, sanitary, and functional environments across diverse SMSC locations, including office buildings, property maintenance sites, childcare centers, clinics, and event venues. The role requires moving between facilities as needed and applying specialized cleaning protocols, infection control, and biohazard disposal in varied settings. Flexibility, adaptability, strong teamwork, and customer service are essential, with evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
Create Your Path: The Work You’ll Do:

Independently clean, maintain, and disinfect a wide variety of SMSC facilities, including kitchens, dining areas, windows, mirrors, public spaces, team member areas, patient rooms, restrooms, lobbies, clinics, and operating areas.
- Consistently ensure all cleaning meets established service standards across assigned work areas and facilities.
- Operate and maintain specialized cleaning equipment (e.g., carpet vacuums, shampooers, extractors, floor scrubbers) in accordance with department standards.
- Follow strict protocols for chemical use, sterilization, and infection control.
- Safely dispose of medical and biohazardous waste, including gloves, syringes, and sharps.
- Perform high-reach cleaning of vents, beams, light fixtures, and signage using scissor lifts, boom lifts, and extension ladders.
- Support rapid turnover cleaning and crowd-prep for events and public gatherings.
- Assist with room setups, tear downs, office moves, and other logistical assignments.
- Use specialized chemicals, equipment, and supplies for areas requiring heightened sanitation or detailed cleaning.
- Interact professionally with team members and customers to provide consistent, high-quality service.
- Provide peer support to new custodial team members by training, guiding them on cleaning procedures across facilities, monitoring work to ensure quality standards are met, and reinforcing departmental protocols.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and maintain composure in fast-paced environments.
- Rotate between multiple facilities as directed, applying knowledge of cleaning standards and procedures to efficiently and effectively maintain any setting where assigned.
Job Requirements:
- 2 years direct cleaning experience in a variety of settings.
- Ability to read and speak English clearly.
- Valid Class D driver’s license (required).
- Availability to work weekends and special events on non-scheduled days that may arise with little
notice.
