- Safely operate and drive company vehicles over local, regional, or long-haul routes.
- Visually inspect daily a pre and post trip inspection of the commercial vehicle and flatbed trailer; this includes inspecting equipment for defective parts and making a notation if needed
- Ability to maneuver into and out of the tractor using steps and handrailing as well as maneuvering onto and off of the flatbed trailer
- Ability to operate a commercial motor vehicle using steering wheel, petals, clutch, and/or shifter for both automatic and manual transmissions
- Ability to walk to trailer in order to secure load to trailer deck
- Grasp chains, straps, and other load securement equipment and attach securely for safe transit
- Lift tarp, spread across load, and secure when needed
- Must be able to tarp and un-tarp loads
- Must be able to secure the load to the truck and un-secure the load which entails pushing and pulling
- Walk from tractor to customer facility in order to receive completed necessary paperwork
- Carry and place 4"x4"x8' hardwood for dunnage on and off trailers
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
- CDL Class A Driver's License
- Must have 2 years recent flatbed trucking experience
- Satisfactory MVR and PSP scores
- Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission commercial trucks
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to stand, bend, walk, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. for up to 10 hours per day, when necessary
