What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Sales Representative – Multi-Family Building Materials position at Tri-Supply?
We’re looking for a driven, relationship-focused Outside Sales Representative to grow our multi-family millwork business across Austin, Houston, Dallas Fort Worth and San Antonio. In this role, you’ll develop new accounts, strengthen existing relationships, and work closely with our estimating and operations teams to deliver doors, windows, mouldings, and custom millwork solutions to builders and contractors.

- Prospect and develop new business with multi-family builders and contractors
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular jobsite and office visits
- Quote and sell millwork products including doors, windows, trim, mouldings, and related hardware
- Review plans, verify job requirements, and take basic field measurements as needed
- Partner with estimating to prepare accurate takeoffs, quotes, and submittals
- Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, proposals, follow-up, closing, and post-sale support
- Track opportunities, activity, and forecasts in CRM
- Coordinate with operations to ensure correct product selection, lead times, and on-time delivery
- Attend jobsite meetings and quickly resolve issues to keep projects moving
- Represent the company professionally at industry events and in the community
- 2 years of outside sales experience (building materials, lumber, millwork, windows/doors, or construction-related preferred)
- Solid knowledge of residential, multi-family, and light commercial construction processes
- Ability to read plans and specifications and take basic jobsite measurements
- Proven success building relationships and closing deals using a consultative approach
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
