Position Overview
The Construction Laborer plays a key role in supporting construction on job sites. This position involves a wide range of physical tasks, from carrying tools and materials to operating small equipment. The ideal candidate is hardworking, dependable, and ready to learn in a hands-on environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of underground storage tanks, including cutting and threading steel pipe.
- Operate small equipment such as a skid steer loader.
- Load, unload, lift, and move materials as directed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site per foreman’s instructions.
- Comply with all safety protocols and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Keep tools accounted for, cleaned, and organized on trucks or in trailers.
- Support work processes by preparing, sorting, measuring, cutting, and loading materials.
- Ensure job site inventory is accurate.
- Be available for occasional out-of-town travel (company pays for hotel and per diem for meals; weekends are always home).
- Work flexible hours, including after-hours as needed, and in all weather conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Basic math, measurement, and mechanical skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Physically able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, stooping, and standing for 8–10 hours a day.
- Must pass pre-employment requirements, including a drug screen and driving background check (if driving company vehicles).
Skills & Qualifications
- Punctual and dependable.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
- General equipment maintenance knowledge is a plus.
