Construction Laborer job description:
The Construction Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at building, construction, renovation and demolition sites. The Construction Laborer may operate hand and power tools of all types: saws, drills, mixers, hoists, surveying and measuring equipment and a variety of other equipment and instruments. The Construction Laborer may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces, erect scaffolding, climb ladders and roofs, and clean up rubble and debris
Tasks performed by construction laborers:
- Assist the Lead Carpenter as required
- Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Reads and interprets plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
- Measures, marks and cuts materials as required.
- Dig trenches, ditches, backfilling and compacting sites and leveling.
- Loads and unloads and identifies building material, machinery and tools.
- Frame walls, floors and roofs.
- Hang, tape, spackle and finish drywall.
- Prime, paint, stain, sand, and finish various surfaces.
- Tile layout, setting and grouting.
- Set doors, windows and trim.
- Learn basic plumbing, mechanical and electric.
- Operate pneumatic and power tools.
- Continue learning and growth.
- Perform tasks as requested.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Construction Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- Automobile insurance (Required)
