Radiologic Technologist

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor, this employee is responsible for the x-ray equipment and for taking x-rays of patients as requested by the doctors.

Regular attendance is an essential part of this job. Part Time - Monday-Thursday 3:30 PM - 9PM

X-Ray Essential Functions:

• Responsible for all aspects of the x-ray equipment, including turning it on and off at the beginning and end of the day, respectively.
• X-ray patients per each doctor’s orders
• Marks encounter forms and chart as to what views were taken
• If the Clinical Assistant is unavailable, gets the patient from exam room and returns patient to the room when the x-ray is complete
• Burns CDs of films as requested
• Keeps a filing system of outside films according to when they are delivered and when they are sent out
• Performs bone density tests on patients as scheduled
• Performs a daily system check
  
  
  

Additional Responsibilities

• Pulls old films from 3rd floor storage area as necessary
• Orders x-ray folders and envelopes as needed
• Obtains appropriate number of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs)
• Keeps updated with State Board of Health Certificate
• Writes exam in logbook and patient’s chart
• Faxes insurance information to St. Vincent
• Calls in helium levels weekly
• Scans in screening sheets
• Cross covers in diagnostic x-ray as needed

Job Qualifications:

• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with all doctors and nurses
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
