Essential Functions:
- Calls patients out of the waiting rooms and rooms the patient in appointment order
- Prepares patients to be seen by ensuring patient is properly dressed in gown or shorts
- Checks if patient requires X-rays, staple or suture removal, cast removal prior to seeing Physician
- Straightens exam rooms and places clean sheets on each exam table
- Ensures clinical areas are prepared to see patients
- Prepares schedules per physician preference
- Prepares injections, but not to take the place of the person running the office with the physician
- Keep accurate/updated injection log
- Prepares anything extra per nurse/doctor preference
- Monitors and stocks exam & shared supply rooms and maintains appropriate inventory along with monthly expiration date maintenance
- Assists in injections, aspirations, etc. but not to take the place of the medical assistant or nurse
- Ensures all documentation is on chart electronically including but not limited to labs, EKG results, therapy notes and medication history.
- Closes rooms at the end of office by stripping sheets and disposing of all trash on counters
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments as needed
- Assembles surgery packets/ education information for medical assistants/nurses
- Disposes of waste properly
- Maintains oxygen tanks
- Collects dirty laundry and takes to specified storage area for processing
- Covers for other associates when on vacation, leave, etc.
- Works in Urgent Care on a Saturday rotation schedule
- Orders all clinical supplies as needed, puts up supplies when they are delivered,
Job Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a medical setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Ability to use judgement and reasoning
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite
- Aptitude to learn new computer programs
- Ability to work with all physicians and clinical staff
- Ability to use phone, fax, computer and copier
