Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Berlin, CT for a Construction Materials Testing professional. The person in this position will perform field inspections, collect samples at job sites, document test results, and communicate findings to project managers and clients. Daily responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, following established quality control standards, and completing clear, timely reports. The role also involves collaborating with engineers and field staff, adhering to safety protocols, and supporting multiple projects to meet scheduling and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong laboratory skills, including handling and preparation of construction material samples and accurate data recording.
- Experience in quality control processes, including adherence to testing standards and internal procedures.
- Well-developed analytical skills to interpret test results, identify irregularities, and recommend follow-up actions.
- Background as a laboratory technician or similar role in construction materials testing or a related technical field.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or coursework in civil engineering, materials science, or construction technology is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions, lift and move test materials and equipment, and follow safety guidelines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with field, lab, and engineering staff.
- Certifications such as ACI, ICC, NETTCP, or similar industry credentials are preferred.
