Overview
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain and monitor communications on behalf of the Tri-State Better Business Bureau & assist with bureau outreach efforts.
Specific duties include:
BBB Social Media, Newsletter/Eblasts, Articles & Press Releases
· Create content for social media
· Manage all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X/Twitter) – create and schedule content (at least 4 days per week), respond to comments, messages, engage with other BBB accredited businesses online
· Responsible for the content and preparation of the monthly Accredited Business newsletter. Content must be approved by the Director of Bureau Affairs and the President and CEO.
· Create and distribute press releases, consumer alerts, monthly articles, ads and other requested pieces in efforts to further community knowledge of the BBB, its services and events.
Public facing communications:
· Produce scripts, assist with production and request airtime for PSAs/space for outdoor advertising and look for other opportunities for creative communications (YouTube Videos, podcasts, etc.)
· Continually look to promote and further BBB programs and expand/work with BBB Community Partners.
· Maintain local media contacts, eblast audience lists and promote BBB events on community calendars
· Assist in updating BBB materials, brochures and other BBB resources
· Responsible for maintaining our Google Grant/Google Ads
Additional Duties:
· Help prepare ads for Accredited Businesses or graphics for bureau as requested
· Help with presentations to groups and assist with BBB Consumer Protection Task Force
· Help with Community Outreach and assist with the development of new programs, fundraising and events.
· Monitor media and news activity
· Assist with system updates, data entry, answering phone calls from consumers and businesses, assist consumers who come into BBB office, or other office duties.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Equivalent training or work experience considered.
· Excellent telephone etiquette & presentation skills
· Ability to communicate professionally and persuasively over the phone, in writing and in person with businesses of all sizes and in all industries
· Commitment to providing outstanding customer service
· Excellent communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
· High level of interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive information and documents with confidentiality
· Proficient with MS Office and capable of internet research
· Experience with Adobe Cloud, Photoshop, or Canva a plus.
· Social Media experience required.
· Must be able to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced team environment and be flexible to take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.
