JOB DESCRIPTION – PARTS MANAGER
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused PARTS MANAGER to join our automotive team. This role involves providing exceptional service to customers, managing parts inventory, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dealership or repair shop. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, automotive knowledge, and organizational abilities to ensure a seamless parts ordering and sales process. Dealership experience is highly valued to enhance customer interactions and service delivery.
Duties
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct automotive parts and accessories using product knowledge and inventory systems.
- Manage parts inventory, including stock replenishment, inventory control, and order fulfillment using tools such as CMMS or POS systems.
- Process sales transactions accurately through cashiering and POS systems while handling cash and credit payments responsibly.
- Provide technical support related to automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repair procedures when needed.
- Maintain an organized parts counter area, ensuring stock is properly stocked, labeled, and accessible for quick retrieval.
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone etiquette, addressing inquiries about parts availability, pricing, and vehicle repair needs.
- Collaborate with sales management and marketing teams to promote parts specials or new product offerings.
- Support maintenance of dealership or shop tools and equipment related to inventory management and customer service functions.
- Assist in implementing retail math principles for order fulfillment, stock rotation, and inventory control to maximize sales efficiency.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in automotive repair or dealership environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, automotive service procedures, and repair processes.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems such as CMMS or similar software; experience with Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfillment processes.
- Effective communication skills; bilingual abilities (especially in Spanish) are highly desirable for serving diverse customer bases.
- Experience with retail sales, POS systems, cash handling, cashiering, and customer service is essential.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with customers while maintaining professional integrity.
- Knowledge of automotive repair parts, dealership operations, marketing strategies, retail math, and inventory control techniques will be advantageous.
