Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Childcare Floater to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this versatile role, you will provide flexible, high-quality care across multiple classrooms and age groups, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. As a Childcare Floater, you will support classroom teachers, assist with daily activities, and step into various roles to promote childhood development and learning. Duties
- Support classroom teachers by assisting with daily routines, activities, and supervision of children across different age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children
- Provide attentive care during meal times, nap times, play sessions, and transitions to ensure children’s safety and comfort
- Engage children in age-appropriate educational activities that promote early childhood development, behavior management, and social skills
- Maintain a clean and organized environment by sanitizing toys, surfaces, and classroom materials regularly
- Assist with diapering, potty training, and basic health needs while adhering to health and safety protocols such as first aid procedures
- Observe and document children’s progress and behavior to support individualized learning plans
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless coverage across classrooms and provide consistent care that aligns with program standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in childcare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or classroom settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in child safety is encouraged
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs within a busy childcare environment
- Passion for nurturing children’s growth through teaching, caregiving, and positive reinforcement
- Must be available Monday-Friday, 12:30pm-5:30pm
