What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Technician position at Tri-Lakes Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy technicians work closely with licensed physical therapists to support patient care and help keep the clinic running smoothly. Under the direct supervision of a physical therapist, the technician assists with various aspects of treatment and plays a key role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients.
This position is highly active and hands-on. Technicians spend most of the day on their feet and frequently assist patients with changing positions, transferring on and off treatment tables, and moving to different areas of the clinic. At times, this may involve supporting a significant portion of a patient’s body weight in a safe and controlled manner.
In addition to patient-related tasks, responsibilities include general clinic upkeep, such as:
· Straightening and cleaning treatment areas between patients
· Emptying trash and maintaining cleanliness in all rooms
· Cleaning and organizing the break room
· Cleaning restrooms
· Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors as needed
Clinic Hours:
Appointments are typically scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Staff generally finish within about an hour after the last scheduled patient. On occasion, a later appointment may be added to accommodate a patient with a challenging schedule.
Scheduling & Breaks:
The daily schedule is patient-driven and can be busy and fast-paced. A 30-minute lunch period is built into the day. Because of the nature of patient scheduling, additional short breaks are not routinely built into the schedule, and there may be days when lunch starts later than planned or is shortened based on clinic needs.
