The Human Resources department invites applicants to apply for the Benefits Manager position at the college. This person plays a critical part in supporting our employees by managing benefits administration, leave programs, and wellness initiatives. The Benefits Manager will serve as a key resource for insurance and retirement options, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and lead efforts to enhance employee engagement through comprehensive benefits and wellness programs.Job Functions:
- BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION: Function as the college’s benefits administrator and provide management of the enrollment, processing, calculation, and explanation of various insurance and retirement benefits/options. Manage the annual enrollment process. Develop programs (i.e. new hire orientation, monthly meetings, etc.) to share information on retirement plans, insurance policies, and other related benefits. Develop initiatives and material that highlight benefits to attract and retain employees. Manage the relationships with the PEBA, EAP and other partners in the benefit, retirement, wellness, and workers compensation space.
- LEAVE ADMINISTRATION: Serves as administrator and subject matter expert of the college’s leave system. Maintains all related tables and information to ensure accurate and timely processing of all leave records and required time reporting. Oversee and administer leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), Worker's Compensation, annual leave, sick leave, paid parental leave, etc. Advise employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, worker’s compensation, and any disability benefits.
- PAYROLL TRANSACTIONS and RECONCILIATIONS - Responsible for processing transactions for benefit deductions, payroll changes, and other requests involving employee time/leave. Must perform this work with high degree of accuracy and excellent recordkeeping. Serves as HR Liaison for payroll interactions with Finance Team for payroll processing and all related requirements.
- WELLNESS: Develop the framework and annual calendar for a comprehensive wellness program. Coordinate, plan, and facilitate health and fitness activities and programs for employees. Plan and implement classes, speakers, seminars, etc. that promote healthy lifestyles. Provides ongoing educational presentations and applicable training programs.
- OTHER HR/HRIS: Perform miscellaneous duties related to all areas of human resources as needed to support the overall HR team's responsibilities.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- A bachelors degree and experience in human resources management programs.
- Microsoft excel skills- intermediate to advanced level
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of direct experience in benefits, leave, payroll, wellness administration as part of a HR team.
- 10 years relevant experience
- Experience with various HCM systems for benefits, leave, payroll administration
