Job Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Vocational High School Plumbing Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing, HVAC or Facilities Engineering and a commitment to teaching students practical skills and knowledge that will prepare them for successful careers. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive plumbing curriculum that aligns with MA DESE standards and incorporates hands-on training and real-world applications. Instruction: Deliver engaging and effective instruction in plumbing concepts, including installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, codes, safety practices, and relevant technologies. Assessment: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and practical skills, providing constructive feedback to support their growth. Classroom and Lab Management: Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Collaboration: Work closely with other vocational program instructors to integrate plumbing skills into broader vocational training and ensure students receive a well-rounded education. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practices and stay updated on industry trends and best practices in plumbing. Parent and Community Engagement: Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and foster relationships with local plumbing businesses and organizations to support student learning and job placement.
