Weatherization Energy Auditor
Schedule: M-Thurs, 10 hour days
Salary: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour
Role:
The person in this position must have a BPI Weatherization Auditor Certification. Responsibilities will include Low-income Weatherization, Core/Home Energy Assistance and other Low-income home energy conservation and rehab program. He/she will be responsible for providing program coverage and supervision to work crews county-wide. Assigned production goals, forecasting, estimating, and accurate material costing with tracking will need to be met
All Weatherization staff must agree to a criminal back-ground check.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
1. Have a thorough knowledge of all program regulations and ability to apply them in the field.
2. Work with central office staff to maintain a pool of client home work-sites.
3. Schedule work with clients.
4. Audit clients homes to determine work needed as well as health & safety and repair needs. Conduct necessary testing. Complete required computer energy audit; interpret and apply results as required by TCCAP’s Weatherization program guidelines and tracking procedures.
5. Keep clients informed of plans for their home; provide client education to include but not limited to heating conservation, electric baseload usage and health & safety concerns.
6. Supervise and assist Crew-Chief with implementing weatherization measures and guidance to the crews.
7. Complete post-work inspections, obtain necessary client signatures, and complete all program paperwork.
8. Keep accurate Wx material and labor records. Submit material needs and time sheets weekly to the Wx coordinator. .
9. Complete and assist the Wx Coordinator in acquiring all new hire crew paperwork and payroll documents.
10. Complete reporting paper work and on-line data collection/billing information as soon as a job has been completed.
11. Assist heating programs with overseeing contracted heating system work – trouble shooting errors and providing final inspection required documentation.
12. Recognize when subcontracting work is more cost effective then in house crews spec out and inspect any subcontracted work.
13. Keep paperwork flowing to the main office in a timely manner as required to fulfill all program and financial needs
14. Report/call in to program Coordinator daily to discuss plans, material needs, staffing, clients, etc.
15. Attend meetings, participate in trainings as required per program requirement
16. Maintain good working relations with Clients, Crews, Funders, Utilities and Customers.
17. Complete other tasks as may be assigned.

4. Shows knowledge of program regulations, codes, allowable invoicing expenses, Knowing each of the funders best pay per measures for optimal benefit to client and highest return for the agency.
5. Demonstrates communication Skills to and from: Crew, Program Coordinator, Clients, funders, Inspectors and Vendors.
6. Proves self motivating skills and works alone on daily tasks: Estimating, material forecasting, job costing, crew management.
7. Demonstrates time management skills, ability to prioritize tight schedules with construction project or employee changes and other conflicts that have arised.
8. Proficient in the use of approved State and Utility Auditing & Billing software, job work order software, windows office programs, TCCAP proprietary software.
9. Implementation of program information and project specifications into well written easy to follow document for crews and contractors. Project Work Order, Job Scope, Electricians work order and outside contractors work orders as necessary.
10. Produces multiple jobs for each crew for any given day to minimize unexpected delays of materials, labor issues IE: employee health and clients ever changing schedules.
11. Exhibits accuracy of estimates, materials forecasting, invoices, invoicing and project closing dates and job scheduling.
12. Demonstrates ability to keep the program & agency guidelines and mission front and center while still having compassion for clients and subordinates best interest in all decision making.
13. Prove tracking of required personal CUE's, training updates and classes.
14. Takes good care of agency equipment and uses supplies efficiently. keeps agency logs of calibrations needed and service times required per manufacture. Reports any broken or malfunctioning equipment to program Coordinator immediately upon discovery. This includes agency vehicles.
Knowledge and Skills: Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education:
(1) A college degree in a non-technical discipline (e.g., BBA, BA, or BFA), or (2) achievement of journeyman status in a recognized trade, (3) achievement of formal certifications recognized in industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree, or (4) in-depth industry and job specific technical skills acquired through a combination of formal instruction and on-the-job training.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (customers or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills Must be able to operate a 10 calculator by touch. Must be able to use PC spreadsheet software.
