Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Service Advisor / Writer to join our automotive service team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for maintenance and repairs. Your energetic approach will ensure a positive experience by accurately assessing vehicle needs, communicating effectively with technicians and customers, and guiding clients through the service process. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle concerns, and document their service requests with clarity and professionalism
- Review vehicle inspection reports and communicate necessary repairs or maintenance options clearly, including upselling additional services when appropriate
- Prepare detailed auto estimates using dealership management software, ensuring transparency and accuracy for each customer
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmission work, suspension, alignment, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Explain repair procedures and costs to customers in an understandable manner while emphasizing quality and safety standards
- Promote additional services like vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, or preventive maintenance to maximize customer satisfaction and dealership revenue
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or automotive service management background is preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension work, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, auto body repair, air brake systems, and alignments
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Experience working with service technicians to coordinate repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality assurance
