What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Ready Mix Driver position at Tri-Agg Inc./ Newport Ready Mix?
Overview
As a Ready Mix Driver, you will operate a ready-mix truck to load, transport and unload ready mixed concrete at various locations while practicing proper traffic, site and delivery safety procedures. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members and provide excellent customer service and be knowledgeable about material properties. Pay is DOE
Duties
- Perform daily truck inspections and report needed repairs.
- Daily maintenance of equipment.
- Drives truck equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites:
- Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment.
- Clean and maintain truck.
- Ensure proper loading and adjusting of ready mix to proper slump.
- Make contact with customer on job site for unloading instructions and secure signature on load invoice.
- Ensure proper use of truck tracking software.
- Be able to work without direct supervision.
- Report information accurately and completely on daily time cards and other needed paperwork.
- Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
- Maintain proper information in truck cab and perform daily housekeeping in truck cab.
- Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
As a successful CDL Driver, you will have:
- A CDL Class B license or higher with two years truck driving experience.
- Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure, medical card, and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.

Work Location: In person
- Safely operate commercial vehicles such as dump trucks, concrete mixers, and other heavy equipment to deliver concrete to various construction sites.
- Load and unload concrete materials using loaders, excavators, or other machinery with precision and care.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and communicate effectively with site personnel to coordinate delivery schedules.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning, mechanical safety, and compliance with regulations.
- Assist with concrete pumping, paving, forming, or finishing tasks as needed on-site to support construction activities.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation, concrete handling, and site procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Support rebar installation and other structural tasks when required, demonstrating versatility across construction activities.
