IBP is seeking an experienced Controller to lead and manage the company’s accounting operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys building strong financial processes, developing teams, and supporting a growing company in the building materials industry.

The Controller will oversee the full accounting function, ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and partner closely with company leadership to provide financial insight that supports continued growth and operational excellence.

This position works closely with executive leadership and plays a key role in maintaining the financial strength and operational efficiency of the organization.


Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and general ledger

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

• Manage job costing, revenue recognition, margin analysis, and cash flow forecasting

• Prepare and present financial statements, budget vs. actual analysis, and financial insights to leadership

• Review contracts and billing terms to ensure accurate financial treatment and risk mitigation

• Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP-compliant procedures

• Identify process improvements and implement automation and workflow efficiencies

• Supervise, mentor, and develop Finance Department staff

• Coordinate with external partners including CPA firms, tax advisors, and insurance providers

• Support financial operations in a multi-entity environment

• Partner with operations and project teams to ensure accurate cost and inventory accounting

• Utilize ERP systems and advanced Excel tools to support financial reporting and analysis (NetSuite preferred)

• Distribute Cost Center reports and assist managers with variance analysis

• Analyze cost center budgets and forecasts and explain variances

• Oversee account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

• Coordinate annual inventory cycle counts

• Manage treasury functions, banking relationships, and cash management strategies

• Provide financial insights to operational leaders to support business performance

• Assist with special projects, acquisitions, and expansion initiatives

• Support shareholder relations and financial reporting as needed


Qualifications

• 10 years of progressive accounting experience

• 4 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role

• CPA preferred but not required

• Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas

• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite strongly preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $125,000 – $150,000 based on experience

Performance Bonus: Up to $50,000 based on company growth
