Role Overview
As a Marine Fiberglass Fabrication and Layup Technician, you’ll tackle a mix of marine and industrial projects—cutting and placing fiberglass materials, repairing FRP structures, and bringing surfaces to a professional finish while upholding strict safety standards.
You Will
- Lay out, cut, and install fiberglass/composite materials
- Perform repairs on boats, vessels, and industrial components
- Apply resins, gel coats, and related materials
- Sand, grind, buff, and finish fiberglass surfaces
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and written work instructions
- Maintain a clean workspace and follow safety policies and procedures
What It Takes
- Previous fiberglass experience preferred
- Background in marine, shipyard, boat building, or industrial environments is a plus
- Comfort using hand tools, power tools, grinders, and sanders
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- High attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions
