Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a key leader in early childhood education, you will design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula, promote positive behavior, and build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement creative, age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards and incorporate curriculum development principles.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth.
  • Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and effective behavior management strategies are in place.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns to promote collaborative support for each child's development.
  • Support children’s literacy education through engaging reading activities, storytelling, and phonemic awareness exercises.
  • Incorporate early intervention techniques for children with special needs or developmental delays to ensure all students receive appropriate support.
  • Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and uphold child welfare standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan educational activities that integrate physical education, math, science, and Montessori methods when applicable.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor each child's progress and inform instruction.
  • Lead classroom management efforts by establishing clear routines, expectations, and positive reinforcement strategies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom experience is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content across multiple domains including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
  • Familiarity with special education practices and accommodations for children with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws is required.
  • Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus.
  • Background in early childhood education methodologies such as Montessori or standard preschool teaching approaches preferred.
  • Ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively while maintaining a nurturing environment focused on child welfare.

Required:

  • MUST be 21
  • DCF 40 Hours Child Care Training (required)
  • Must pass a Level 2 background screening
  • Experience working with toddlers or in an early childhood classroom preferred
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and toddler care
  • Ability to create engaging learning activities and maintain classroom routines
  • Reliable, patient, and passionate about working with young children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
