Job description:
Our client in SULPHUR SPRINGS is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee all aspects of general accounting operations. This individual will report in a dotted-line capacity to the President and play a key role in driving accurate financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement within a fast-growing B2C e-commerce and retail environment.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical ability, operational awareness, and the capacity to collaborate cross-functionally in a lean, entrepreneurial organization. The position does not include direct reports but will coordinate closely with internal teams and external accountants.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, and reconciliations within NetSuite.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor and verify financial transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Develop, document, and continuously improve internal accounting policies and controls.
- Partner with leadership to prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Support tax preparation and compliance efforts, including coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Support inventory and cost accounting processes related to product and e-commerce operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior Controller or Assistant Controller responsibilities.
- Proven NetSuite experience required (implementation or advanced user proficiency ideal).
- Experience in B2C e-commerce, retail, or consumer products environments strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
- High integrity and professionalism, with a track record of building collaborative relationships across departments.
