Position Overview
Absolute Pipeline Integrity LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to manage all financial aspects of our oil & gas construction projects. You will handle job costing, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and ensure accurate project financials in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical for maintaining financial integrity, supporting project managers, and contributing to the overall profitability of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform job cost accounting, including tracking labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead costs for multiple construction projects.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice coding, vendor payments, and client billing.
- Assist with payroll processing for field and office employees, including certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance.
- Support project managers with cost-to-complete estimates, change order tracking, and budget variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with oil & gas industry regulations, GAAP, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records and support internal and external audits.
- Assist managing company-wide insurance programs and related accounting, including renewals, audits, and monthly journal entries
- Manage all aspects of the monthly close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and coordination with operations to ensure accurate job costing and revenue recognition.
Qualifications
- Experience: 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in construction accounting (oil & gas, pipeline, or heavy civil experience strongly preferred).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
-Experience with ERP systems and job cost reporting.
- Strong understanding of construction-specific accounting principles (percentage of completion, work-in-progress, etc.).
- Knowledge of tax regulations, multi-state payroll, and prevailing wage requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience in the energy or industrial construction sector is highly preferred.
