Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive electrical systems and schematics to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on various mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and steering components.
- Service vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, and tire service.
- Repair and replace automotive parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized heavy equipment mechanics tools.
- Work on complex systems like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brake systems, and auto body repairs when necessary.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to ensure precise repairs on GM vehicles or other makes.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including powertrain, electrical systems, suspension, brakes, and transmissions.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics for accurate troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment mechanics is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes and wheel alignments efficiently.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and auto estimating is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid certification or license in automotive repair; ASE certification is preferred but not required.
