Trenam Law is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support our Litigation practice which includes a busy Eminent Domain attorney in our downtown Tampa office. This role enhances attorney effectiveness by providing high-level litigation support and ensuring the efficient operation of the Litigation and Eminent Domain practice groups. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, with demonstrated experience in case file management, scheduling & calendaring, discovery support, and trial preparation.

- Provide proactive legal and administrative support in litigation, eminent domain, and transactional matters
- Draft, proofread, and finalize correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and legal documents
- Maintain case and client files in document management systems (DMS); organize and file pleadings, exhibits, and incoming correspondence
- Manage attorney calendars, including court deadlines, depositions, client meetings, and travel arrangements
- Coordinate with court personnel, opposing counsel, clients, vendors, and internal staff
- Assist with opening new matters: gather relevant information, initiate conflict checks, and draft engagement and preservation letters
- Submit check requests, manage attorney expenses, and assist with time entry and billing procedures
- Support deposition and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and arranging logistics
- Occasionally assist with visual materials or mapping data related to land use cases (GIS experience is a plus, not required)
- Help maintain professionalism and client confidentiality in all interactions and documentation
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally within litigation or land use matters
- High school diploma required
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems; iManage experience helpful
- Strong knowledge of court filing procedures (both electronic and in-person)
- Accurate, quality work product; strong attention to detail; highly organized
- Highly responsive and able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Works effectively independently and as a team member in support of overarching goal of excellent client service
