What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Production Planner position at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions?
- Prepare production plans through the compilation of customer requirements, engineering designs, specifications, machine process data, print and distribute work orders, and perform scheduling of all production cells.
- Schedule, control, and coordinate production activities based upon production line or shop capacity, priority, and due date.
- Create and post a work order priority list (Dispatch List) for each work center.
- Act as liaison between Sales and Marketing to communicate production status and to expedite orders to satisfy customer requirements.
- Advise procurement or supply activities on a variety of material requirements and production schedule due dates.
- Determine the status of work in process, time required to complete the job, the availability of materials, tools required, and reassess priorities.
- Expedite jobs in progress by any appropriate means.
- Ensure labor, material, and work order records in the information systems are current and accurate
- Provide support to internal and external customers.
- Direct and coordinate personnel in conjuction with Value Stream Supervisors.
- Analyze and effectively solve work problems or assist in solving work related problems.
- Recommend and/or initiate personnel measures including hiring, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, dismissals, and disciplinary actions.
- Determine manpower requirements to successfully complete required tasks.
- Actively participate with management in Manufacturing Excellence and other improvement projects to continuously improve business processes.
- Actively participate as a member of the Inventory Control team to insure inventory accuracy.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Time keeping approval duties for operations team.
- Attends daily operations meetings
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-5 Years in production scheduling or similar role.
Preferred: Associates Degree and/or APICS training. Experience with 5S, Lean Thinking/Six Sigma philosophies a plus. 1 Years experience with ERP systems preferred. Experience with JD Edwards is a huge plus.
Salary starting at $65,000 based on experience
