We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Solids Control Operator to join our dynamic team on oil and gas drilling sites. In this role, you will be responsible for managing solids control equipment to ensure efficient drilling operations, maintaining safety standards, and supporting the overall success of the project. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy machinery and contribute to energy extraction projects in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and a passion for the oil & gas industry.
Duties
- Operate solids control equipment such as shale shakers, centrifuges, degassers, and mud cleaners to separate drill cuttings from drilling fluids effectively.
- Monitor and adjust equipment settings to optimize performance and prevent equipment failure during drilling operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of solids control systems and perform preventive maintenance to ensure operational reliability.
- Assist with the setup, rigging, and breakdown of heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tanker trucks on construction sites.
- Support pipeline installation activities by managing materials and ensuring compliance with safety protocols outlined by OSHA standards.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment operation, maintenance activities, and safety checks for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate closely with drill crews, site supervisors, and safety personnel to uphold construction site safety standards and operational efficiency.
Skills
- Extensive experience working on oil rigs or construction sites involving heavy equipment operation.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of oil & gas drilling processes and horizontal directional drilling techniques.
- Proficiency in operating machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tanker trucks, and other construction vehicles.
- Strong understanding of pipeline installation procedures and safety regulations including OSHA standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and perform routine maintenance on solids control equipment.
- Knowledge of rigging practices for lifting heavy components safely during setup or breakdown activities.
