Duties
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to clients experiencing behavioral health or addiction crises, ensuring immediate safety and stabilization.
- Offer mental health counseling and motivational interviewing to motivate clients toward recovery goals and behavioral change.
- Serve as a mentor by building trusting relationships, offering support, and guiding clients through recovery pathways.
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies, relapse prevention plans, and life skills to promote sustained recovery.
- Document client interactions accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, counselors, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans.
- Educate clients about addiction, mental health issues, and available community resources to foster independence and self-management.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Recovery Specialist or in a related behavioral health field is required.
- Proven experience in crisis intervention, crisis management, or behavioral health settings.
- Strong knowledge of addiction counseling, mental health counseling techniques, and social work principles.
- Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and engage diverse populations.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
