Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food handling and preparation, with a keen understanding of food safety practices. As a Baker, you will be responsible for creating delicious baked goods, pastries, custom cakes, and catering items that delight our customers. This role requires multitasking, time-management, creativity, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, and other baked goods according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food handling and preparation practices meet food safety regulations.
- Excellent and artistic plating and writing on cakes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the bakery team to fulfill catering orders and special requests from customers.
- Answering questions about products for staff.
- Creative mind and ability to come up with new and appetizing dessert offerings in accordance with the season.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, placing orders as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a baking or pastry role within the food industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food handling techniques and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others; ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and staff.
- Creativity in developing new recipes or improving existing ones is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in both baking processes, decorating, and packaging.
- Self driven with a "get it done" attitude.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts as required by the business needs, including at least one weekend shift and one double.
