Concentrator Operator

SUMMARY:

To monitor and operate the concentrators in a safe, sanitary and approved manner. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring the proper operation of the Blau Knox, APV, MVR and Unipektin units. Initiating corrections and adjustments to equipment as needed to ensure the continued efficient operation of the process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices.

It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action.

1. Operates and monitors multiple concentrators simultaneously to conform to maintenance and quality standards.
2. Identifies problems and initiates adjustments for efficient and optimal operation.
3. When applicable monitor essence fold and production
4. Verifies connection of feed/discharge hoses and levels of feed/discharge tanks for proper product flow.
5. CIP's and sanitizes concentrators and associated piping and tanks.
6. Extracts product samples, determines brix level and standardizes bulk concentrates to quality control specifications.
7. Informs Supervisor on a timely basis of all operational problems encountered and what action was taken to resolve the problems with recommendations to prevent reoccurrences. This includes the documentation of operational trouble spots for corrective action.
8. Calculates and records product flow data completely, concisely, accurately and legibly.
9. Communicates and coordinates with Extraction Operator and Filter Operator to ensure efficient product flow.
10. Responsible for addressing potential food safety and quality issues of the product, including but not limited to monitoring and responding to HACCP, Critical Control Points.
11. Coordinates oneself in a professional manner, working safely, taking precautions in preventing product and/or equipment damages and losses, cooperating with co-workers and maintaining good housekeeping practices at all times.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED is preferred; One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, you must frequently lift and/or move up to 40-60 pounds, reach with hands, kneel, stand, walk, close vision, color vision, do up and down stairs and/or ladders, and the ability to use fine motor skills to operate small hand tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. May be exposed to fumes, frequently works around moving mechanical parts, occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and loud noise.

Salary Range: $(20.96) to $(26.54)

This range reflects the full pay scale for all roles within this position's grade. The actual salary offer will consider various factors, such as experience and, if applicable, location. Salary increases are determined by promotional opportunities. Tree Top provides a
weekly payroll.
