What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Supervisor position at Tredyffrin Township?
Responsible for organizing, implementing, and evaluating the operations of the Finance Department of Tredyffrin, in conjunction with the goals set by the Finance Director.

- Assists the Finance Director in the preparation of the annual budget for all Township funds.
- Prepares, reviews, and analyzes monthly and year-end financial reports to track revenue, expenses, and general ledger activity in accordance with budget.
- Oversees tax and sewer billings and monitor accounts receivable follow through.
- Performs various financial studies and analyses for use by management and Township Boards.
- Assists in the preparation of State and Federal reports and prepare other periodic financial reports for all Township Funds.
- Responsible for monthly and year-end closings, including the preparation and/or review of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity; prepare monthly and year-end financial reports.
- Aids the Township's appointed CPA auditor in the conduct of the annual audits and follows up with recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Assists in the administration of employee pension plans, support staff from the PA Auditor General's office during biennial audit as well as the independent CPA audits.
- Ensure records for the Township's fixed assets are maintained in accordance with GASB 34.
- Ensure financial records are maintained to support efficient grant administration.
- Prepare and submit all local, state, and federal reports.
- Establish and maintain a documented system of accounting and internal control procedures and ensure that standard procedures are followed.
- Communicate official policies and procedures to staff.
- Assist with the development of finance-related policies, ordinances, and resolutions.
- Represent the Township at various conferences and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- MBA or Certified Public Accountant preferred

- At least five (5) years of accounting experience
- Government or non-profit experience preferred
- At least one year experience in financial auditing, preferred
- Must be bondable
