Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time
Schedule: Based on office needs/candidate (8-36 hrs a week)
Compensation: Competitive hourly pay based on experience. Additional pay available for candidates with optometric technician and/or optician experience.

Position Summary
As the first point of contact for our patients, the Optometry Receptionist plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional office environment. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, assisting patients with paperwork, answering phones, verifying insurance information, and supporting the daily operations of the practice.
Candidates with previous experience as an Optometric Technician and/or Optician are strongly encouraged to apply and are eligible for increased compensation based on experience and skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect patient information
- Check patients in and out of appointments
- Process payments and maintain accurate records
- Assist with patient forms and documentation
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Coordinate communication between patients and clinical staff
- Support additional administrative duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous reception, customer service, or medical office experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable using computers, scheduling software, and electronic medical records
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Compensation Based on Experience
We value cross-trained team members and offer enhanced compensation for candidates with the following experience:
- Optometric Technician Experience: Additional pay for candidates who can assist with pre-testing, patient workups, contact lens training, and other clinical support duties.
- Optician Experience: Additional pay for candidates experienced in frame styling, lens recommendations, optical sales, measurements, adjustments, and eyewear dispensing.
- Combined Reception Clinical/Optical Experience: Highest compensation consideration for candidates who can contribute in both front office and clinical/optical support roles.

Pay Range Example: $15–$17/hour for reception experience; up to $17-$23 /hour for candidates with optometric technician and/or optician experience, depending on qualifications and responsibilities.
