JOB DESCRIPTION

REPORTS TO: SECURITY DIRECTOR
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Security Supervisor ensures the shift assigned to operates smoothly and efficiently and that crewmembers, guests and the property are secure and protected. It is the responsibility of the Supervisor to direct Officers and be vigilant to anticipate potential threats. The Supervisor coordinates the security response to emergency situations.
- Ensures enforcement of all state gaming regulations, federal, state and local laws.
- Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures (i.e. table drops, slot drops, access to cage and other sensitive areas, etc.)
- Supervises daily briefing of the officers prior to the start of each daily shift to announce policy and procedural changes, upcoming events, manpower assignments, and other duty related information.
- Oversees the training/development of the officers to ensure they have knowledge and skills necessary to advance to the next highest level of supervision within the Security Department.
- Monitors and documents crewmembers’ performance. Conducts performance appraisals and recommends merit increases. Counsels and disciplines Security Department crewmembers on substandard performances.
- Prepares and reviews Security Department reports compiled on the shift for factual, thorough and timely information.
- Oversees the Lost and Found items on a daily basis ensuring all found property is logged and safeguarded. Ensures all claimed property is returned to the rightful owner.
- Responds to all emergency calls requiring paramedics or outside agencies.
- Authorizes and initiates direct contact with the Biloxi Police Department, Biloxi Fire Department, State Gaming Agents and other outside agencies.
- During emergencies, responds to the appropriate command center and assumes direct control of emergency procedures until executive staff arrives and then performs the role of advisor.
- Ensures that all crewmember accidents and injuries are attended to by the security staff and that all reports are subsequently filed.
- Accepts safe keeping of guest’s weapons during their stay at the hotel for both safety purposes and hotel security.
- Frequently patrols and inspects Treasure Bay facilities (inside and outside).
- Directly supervises all detentions and assists law enforcement agencies when directed.
- Handles guest complaints and disputes, notifying appropriate supervisors and conducting further investigations as needed.
- Checks for safety hazards. When hazardous situations are identified, ensures that reports and/or work orders are submitted and the problems are corrected.
- Supervises and ensures proper handling of the casino drops with regard to Gaming Regulations and Casino Internal Controls (ICs).
- Maintains records of security personnel on each shift to ensure proper crewmember evaluations can be made.
- Accounts daily for any weapons being held for guests.
- Conducts daily inventory of radios and equipment.
- Makes or supervises reports to the Security Director on all matters concerning the security and the safety of guests as well as all matters within Treasure Bay property that could result in a liability suit. Investigates any actions or deeds of misconduct by security officers or other crewmembers which could concern the effective operation of Treasure Bay.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with department heads and other supervisory personnel within Treasure Bay.
- Other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Must have - or be able to obtain - a Mississippi Gaming License.
EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Previous experience as a Security Lead Officer preferred.
- Prior security experience in a casino/hotel environment for a minimum of one year.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
