Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in estimating for commercial construction projects, with a strong focus on interior and exterior building systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to create comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information for accurate estimates.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to better understand project scope and requirements.
- Evaluate bid proposals from subcontractors and vendors.
- Assist in developing budgets and pricing strategies.
- Maintain a database of historical cost data and perform cost analysis.
- Stay current with industry trends, codes, and pricing for materials and labor.
- Provide support during the project bid process and participate in contract negotiations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience as a construction estimator in the commercial sector for General Contractors.
- Strong knowledge of commercial interior and exterior building systems.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Foundation, Sage, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
