What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Fund Controller position at TRD Advisors LLC?
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Controller will focus specifically on the financial reporting for various real estate private equity funds. This role will manage the flow of information prepared by 3rd party fund administrators as well as work closely with external auditors and tax providers. The position will have extensive interaction with the investment team, operations, and investor relations teams. This role will report to the Controller and be based in New York City.
- Manage the 3rd party fund administrator to ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner for investors
- Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP
- Continue to develop and refine policies and procedures associated with fund reporting to improve efficiencies
- Support senior management’s need for accurate information by working with various internal groups to enhance processes related to asset and portfolio management
- Implement and monitor an effective internal control environment across all aspects of financial reporting
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with internal policies and procedures
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports for the investment team, management, and investors
- Ensure all intercompany transactions are processed in accordance with the legal structure and are fully reconciled on a monthly basis
- Calculate, review, and process asset management fees and performance fees
- Monitor bank account balances and cash utilization to ensure appropriate working capital levels
- Work with external tax service providers to ensure compliance with tax regulations for all relevant entities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a plus but not required
- At least 6 years of experience in corporate accounting or public accounting
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fund accounting; high attention to detail
- Analytical problem solver with a hands-on, “roll up your sleeves” mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across teams
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Self-starter with strong ownership mentality
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
- Proactive with a focus on continuous process improvement
- Highly motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Salary : $125,000 - $175,000
