TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a growing manufacturer in the HVAC industry to identify an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer. The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a key role in new product development, product lifecycle support, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting electrical systems and embedded controls for both new and existing products. This role combines hands-on engineering, firmware development, product validation, troubleshooting, and technical research to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop digital and analog circuits for new product introductions.
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for product applications.
- Create engineering documentation, procedures, prototypes, and test plans.
- Debug, test, qualify, and validate products prior to production release.
- Design and execute product testing procedures and analyze results to optimize performance.
- Provide technical support and product education to customers as needed.
- Conduct field failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support product lifecycle management activities, including end-of-life component replacement and certification updates.
- Research product reliability and quality through life-testing and data collection initiatives.
- Support manufacturing operations by resolving yield issues and evaluating alternate components for cost, availability, and performance improvements.
- Track project progress and provide regular status updates.
- Participate in business opportunity reviews, competitive product evaluations, process improvement initiatives, and product tear-down analysis.
- Ensure all compliance, certification, and regulatory requirements are completed prior to product release.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and leadership teams to drive successful project outcomes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 8–10 years of electrical engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience developing embedded firmware.
- Strong knowledge of circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience using laboratory and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, waveform generators, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzers, VAC/VDC power supplies, and related tools.
- Experience working with single-board computing platforms such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
- Advanced programming experience with:
- C/C for embedded and real-time control systems
- Python for automation, data logging, database interaction, and GUI development
- SQL and database maintenance tools such as MySQL Workbench
- Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) design and circuit simulation tools such as SPICE.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
