Base Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 plus uncapped commission
Summary: The Inside Sales Travel Consultant will be responsible for selling travel packages, following up with prospective travelers, converting marketing leads into bookings, and providing a high level of customer service throughout the sales process. The ideal candidate is someone who has direct experience in group travel, escorted tours, packaged vacations, or leisure travel sales. This person should be comfortable working in a CRM, managing a pipeline, cold calling prospects, following up consistently, and using phone, email, and sales sequences to convert leads into booked travelers.
Key Responsibilities:
Convert leads into confirmed travel bookings.
Proactively call, email, and follow up with prospects who have shown interest but have not yet booked.
Manage a sales pipeline using CRM systems, including tracking lead status, activities, follow-up tasks, notes, opportunities, and booking progress.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries
Build strong relationships with prospective travelers
Provide excellent customer service before and after booking, ensuring travelers feel confident and supported.
Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to improve lead conversion
Meet and exceed sales targets, call activity goals, lead conversation goals, and booking revenue expectations.
Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, group additions, travel protection, extensions, or additional services where appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
Background working with a tour operator, travel agency, cruise company, or vacation provider.
Must have experience with selling from a catalogue of group tours and that they have extensive experience in inside sales jobs.
Knowledge of domestic and international travel destinations.
Demonstrate ability to convert leads into confirmed bookings.
Experience working with Reservation Systems and inputting new reservations.
Comfortable making outbound calls, cold calls, and persistent follow-up calls.
Strong customer service skills and a warm, professional communication style.
Strong understanding of the travel sales process, including customer objections, booking timelines, deposits, payments, and trip decision-making.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple leads and customer conversations at once.
