Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our travel team. As a CT Tech, you will be responsible for operating computed tomography equipment and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation.
Job Description
As a CT Tech, you will be responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing CT scanning. Your primary duties will include:
- Confirming patient identification and reviewing imaging requests
- Explainining imaging procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required
- Correctly interpreting doctors' written instructions
- Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies
- Using computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues
- Administering radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues
- Evaluating CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality
- FOLLOWING safety procedures when working with radiation
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Understanding and using the McKesson PACS system
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- At least 1 year of experience as a CT Tech
- BLS certification
- ARRT (CT) National Certification with registration in computed tomography
You should also be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean or stoop easily. A sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology is essential for this role.
Travel Requirements
This is a travel assignment, and you will be working 36 hours per week with 12 hour shifts. The pay package will be based on these shifts, with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
