Travel MRI Technologist Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech) to join our team on a travel assignment in Springfield, Illinois.
About the Role:
- Use magnetic resonance imaging equipment to capture accurate images for medical interpretation by physicians.
- Prepare patients for MRI scans, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confirm patient identification and review imaging requests before explaining procedures to patients.
- Screen patients for MRI safety and position them correctly for scans using immobilization and protective equipment.
- Correctly interpret doctor's instructions and assist radiologists with procedure performance.
- Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images, and label them appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and understand the McKesson PACS system.
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience as an MRI Tech.
- BLS certification, ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging.
- State-specific licensing when required.
- Able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
