Duties

• Greet guests with genuine warmth and enthusiasm as they arrive, ensuring a positive first impression
• Manage restaurant reservations using reservation management systems to optimize seating and wait times
• Coordinate with the host team to seat guests efficiently while maintaining social distancing protocols if applicable
• Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times, reservations, and general inquiries
• Maintain organized waitlists and communicate wait times clearly to guests, ensuring transparency and guest satisfaction
• Assist in managing restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to track seating and availability
• Support guest relations by addressing special requests or concerns promptly and courteously

Skills

• Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role within a restaurant or food service environment
• Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening abilities
• Knowledge of restaurant reservation management and table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy service periods
• Basic math skills for managing reservations, seating calculations, and POS transactions
• Familiarity with food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure guest well-being
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting
