Fleet Manager (CDL Required)
Position Overview
The Fleet Manager provides hands-on leadership, guidance, and day-to-day oversight of professional drivers while partnering closely with feed mill dispatchers, maintenance teams, and local management. This role is critical to ensuring timely feed delivery, regulatory compliance, and safe, efficient fleet operations. This is a NIGHTSHIFT position. Hours between 5pm-5am (10 hour shift).
Key Responsibilities
Driver Leadership & Operations
- Coordinate and communicate with drivers to ensure on-time feed delivery.
- Collaborate with dispatch and local management to adjust schedules in real time.
- Provide direct driver support both in person and via phone.
- Build strong working relationships while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Monitor driver safety, DOT compliance, and Hours of Service (HOS)
- Conduct weekly farm safety checks.
- Perform driver ride-alongs based on KPI requirements.
- Ensure completion of all assigned safety training and coaching.
- Partner with Safety Department to ensure adherence to all company and regulatory standards.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Track and manage preventative maintenance schedules.
- Notify drivers of truck assignments and changes.
- Conduct truck and trailer inspections for compliance.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to support breakdowns and repairs.
Administrative & Performance Management
- Document driver communication and operational activity using fleet software and spreadsheets.
- Monitor driver performance and operational efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with biosecurity protocols and disinfectant supply standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL (Required)
- Minimum:
- 2 years Fleet Management experience, or
- Associate degree with relevant experience
- Minimum 2 years Class A driving experience
- Strong problem-solving ability with professionalism under pressure
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task in a demanding environment
- Effective communication and people skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and general computer systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and squat daily.
- Work boots required

Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- NIGHTSHIFT. 10 hours between 5pm-5am
- On-call rotation (24/7 coverage)
