We're looking for a Field Service Manager to launch and grow our Baton Rouge operation from the ground up. This is a founding role, not a seat in an established branch.
About This RoleTranswest Mobile Truck Repair is expanding into Baton Rouge, and we need the right person to lead that effort. Our Baton Rouge operation is in its earliest stage; One technician in the field, no physical office, and a lot of room to shape how we operate locally.
This is a field-based, mostly remote role. You will be managing day-to-day operations, supporting and growing a technician team, owning the customer relationship, and making decisions independently. Leadership will back you up, but they won't be looking over your shoulder.
This role is best suited for someone who thrives with autonomy and is energized by building something new. Candidates who prefer a structured, fully-resourced environment with established systems and close day-to-day support may find this opportunity is not the right fit at this time.
ResponsibilitiesLead and grow a team of field service technicians across the Baton Rouge area, starting with one founding technician
Manage daily field operations- Scheduling, dispatch, workload prioritization, and service quality
Serve as the senior point of contact for fleet customers, handling escalations with professionalism and urgency
Conduct field visits and quality checks to ensure safety, compliance, and consistent service standards
Monitor team performance metrics and provide hands-on coaching and development
Support hiring, onboarding, and training as the team grows
Coordinate with internal departments — logistics, sales, and customer service — to keep operations running smoothly
Track equipment, parts, and inventory and ensure proper documentation and service records
Help establish the operational standards, culture, and reputation of the Baton Rouge branch
- Proven experience in a field service or operations management role — ideally in a mobile service, fleet, or equipment service environment
- Experience managing or leading a field team with minimal on-site supervision
- Strong customer communication skills; comfortable interacting directly with fleet managers and site leadership
- High level of personal accountability — you set your own schedule, follow through without reminders, and communicate proactively
- Technically grounded; able to have credible conversations with technicians and customers about service and repairs
- Familiarity with field service management software; Fullbay experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to travel throughout the Baton Rouge region
- Ability to pass background and drug screening
Preferred:
- Experience opening or building a new branch, territory, or operation from an early stage
- Background in diesel, heavy equipment, material handling, or industrial field service
- Track record of hiring and developing technicians
- Experience where you were the sole manager or senior leader in a geography
