Position Description: Purpose
The accountant position is responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for TRC Inc.
Essential Functions*
• Participate in monthly financial close activities, performing account reconciliations and preparing journal entries as assigned.
• Provide checks and balances, as well as serve in a backup role, in support of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Participate in the annual budgeting process
• Participate in the annual financial audit by preparing schedules and providing requested information.

Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)
• Work closely with payroll to report, reconcile and prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and retirement plan activities.
• Support TRC Inc.’s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Three years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting and taxation
• Proficient in relevant accounting software
• Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills
• Valid state DMV issued or valid foreign country issued driver’s license
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
• Ability to complete and pass all internal, position specific job and safety trainings required
Working conditions
• Standard office, climate control environment
Physical requirements
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
• Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers
