TRANSPORTATION DISPATCHER
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum experience in general office work and scheduling.
- Knowledge of automated office equipment and excellent word processing. Posses excellent communication skills.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status.
- Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment.
REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator and Assist. Transportation Coordinator
JOB GOAL: To assist the Transportation Coordinator and office staff in providing a safe and efficient transportation program for the district.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains and updates daily transportation schedule.
- Assigns coverage for any absentee driver and or aid.
- Oversee’s and maintains bus driver’s license, physicals & fingerprints schedule.
- Update logs for NJMVC and County reports.
- Run abstracts when requested.
- Coordinates all trips (field trips, sports trips, etc.)
- Verifies trip approvals and paperwork.
- Assigns drivers to trips per contract.
- Oversee driver’s written route directions.
- Enters data into transportation programs. (ex: new registrants, bus information, drive’s information.)
- Assist with zonar reports.
- Assist with bus maintenance reports.
- Assist mechanics with MVC inspection reports
- Assist the Transportation Supervisor with other tasks as assigned, e.g., State Reports. Billing, Jointures, etc.
- Maintains the confidentiality of previleged information and respects personal privacy at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by District Administrator or Transportation Supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months
