Title: Freight Broker / Logistics Sales Executive
Location: Kansas City, MO (On-site preferred / Hybrid flexibility)
Company: TLS (Transportation Logistics Systems)
About TLS
TLS is a growing, Kansas City–based, asset-backed 3PL combining a 55-truck regional fleet with a national brokerage network. We take pride in our local roots, entrepreneurial mindset, and relentless drive to deliver.
We’re looking for hungry, relationship-driven logistics professionals who want to build a book of business—and eventually own it.
The Role
As a Freight Broker / Logistics Sales Executive, you’ll be responsible for growing our brokerage operation by identifying shippers, quoting lanes, and moving freight using TLS assets and partner carriers. You’ll start on a W2 structure with a defined ramp and have the opportunity to transition to a high-earning 1099 model once you’ve built your foundation.
What You’ll Do
- Prospect and cold-call new shippers daily to build relationships
- Quote and book freight with TLS carrier network and external partners
- Manage full shipment lifecycle—pricing, tracking, delivery, customer communication
- Collaborate with dispatch and operations to ensure on-time performance
- Build a personal book of business with recurring, profitable freight lanes
What We’re Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics, brokerage, or transportation sales
- Proven success in cold-calling and building customer relationships
- Energetic, persuasive, and motivated by competition
- Entrepreneurial drive with interest in eventually “owning” your business
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment
Why TLS
- Competitive base commission structure during ramp
- Clear path to independent 1099 broker status (65–70% commission retention)
- Access to TLS assets, carriers, credit, tech stack, and back-office support
- Leadership that rewards results, hustle, and growth
- KC-based, locally owned, and growth-minded
If you love the thrill of sales, hate being micromanaged, and want to grow something you can call your own—TLS is your next move.
